What started out as a few gay guys meeting up once a week to draw some male nudes has now culminated in an exhibition.

ADAM, a group exhibition of the male form through nudes, portraits and abstraction, will take place at Pop Up Place Observatory, 42 Trill Road, Observatory in Cape Town from 1 till 6 May 2019.

Ten up and coming, as well as established artists, explore this subject in a variety of mediums that include photography, drawing and painting.

The exhibition is an opportunity for lovers of art and the male form to experience each artist’s unique interpretation of this subject. The male form, with its long history of representation in the visual arts, is explored in traditional, as well as new and exciting ways by the participating artists. Artworks will be on sale, so you can take a nude male home with you.

Exhibiting artists include Barend Paul Barnard, Theo Deneys, Mark Gerber, Gordy Ginger, Jim Hislop, Chris Koch, Andre Serfontein, Arno and Michael Tietz-Geldenhuys, Dirk van der Westhuizen and Clinton Wood.

Opening night will be at 18.00 on 2 May 2019. For more information or enquiries, email arno@staterastudio.co.za or obervatory.art@gmail.com or WhatsApp on 083-444-1114.
